I WOULD GLADLY RECOMMEND ADAM TO ANYONE I KNOW!
I’ve recently completed a series of Lessons with Adam Kolloff and wish to comment on Adams approach and knowledge. I am relatively new to the world of Golf (five years) and have tried several different teaching approaches and people. My first observation is that not one of my prior instructors used the same approach. There were some common elements as I look back at each but I had come to the conclusion that there was no “way”. Some of my instructors were PGA approved others were recommended by various Golf Courses. Cost was not an issue. In each case I stopped the lessons because I felt that I was going in circles, I did not feel that I knew what I was supposed to be doing during a full swing or short shots. After this summers lessons with Adam I finally have a good mental picture of what I’m trying to do and I can begin to see a difference in my golf. I ‘m not a great golfer but now I feel that I can practice the right things and someday I may even catch up to my Brothers,a noble goal. The key to Adams approach is that I end up knowing why I’m trying to do something a certain way. I know what to practice and what to look for in each type of shot. In several cases Adam has pointed out something about my swing and I found myself saying why hasn’t anyone else seen it or commented on it. Several were major points: proper extension, arms in tight to the body, pulling thru vs. pushing thru the swing just to name a few. I can truly say its been a great help. I also want to comment on Adam’s abilities to communicate the” idea” behind each facet of the game. His approach is simple English, with a minimum of Golf Jargon. This coupled with his obvious passion for the Game makes a lesson fly by. I would gladly recommend Adam to anyone I know. I also believe that he is a student of the game and will only get better over time. – John N.
MY SCORES ARE FINALLY GETTING BETTER!
With the complexity of the golf swing, one of my biggest issues as a beginner, was translating what I learned in lessons and what worked at the driving range to the golf course. Adam used a detailed video analysis and piece-by-piece plan to help me learn what the swing was supposed to feel like. We then determined what my biggest issues were, and he provided swing keys that helped me translate what I was learning on to the course. For the first time, I am not just hitting the ball well in lessons and on the range, but at the course. As a result, my scores are finally getting better! – Paul Z.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND HIM FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO TAKE THEIR GOLF GAME TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
I’ve worked with Adam for almost a year now and have dropped 7 strokes from my game. Adam’s dedication to his clients and patience to teach is what separates him from others. Although I’ve improved on technical aspects of my swing, the most valuable lesson Adam has provided me is a better understanding of the entire swing as one fluid motion, specific to my swing type and frame. I look forward to continue to work with Adam in the future, and strongly recommend him for anyone looking to take their golf game to the next level. – AJ
I HAVE NEVER MET ANYONE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT TEACHING GOLF!
My name is Derek Doiron. I am a junior in high school. I have been playing golf for about 7 years. I have a huge passion for the game. I was looking for someone who could take my game to the next level. I got an email from Golfrite Performance Center stating that Adam Kolloff had joined their team. I had been to a few pros, but had not really felt a good connection with them. I gave Adam a try. From the minute he shook my hand I felt the connection. He made me feel as if my game was all he cared about. He watched my swing and videoed me in action. Right away he pointed out small things that he could help me change, that could really help my game. I was so impressed by everything he said. Finally I felt I had found the right person who could help my game. I was right. For instance, Adam told me that if I did not change my grip now, it would come back to haunt me. He worked really hard with me to get the grip right. I am still working at my game, and I feel good about all the changes Adam has pointed out. Adam has changed a few things about how I played the game and they were all necessary changes. It was as if he had been watching my game right along and knew exactly what had to be done. I have lots of goals I want to achieve, one of them is to play college golf, having met Adam, I feel that goal can become reality. I have never met anyone so passionate about teaching golf. Adam is right on with all the details. He has a lot of knowledge, patience, and really cares about my game. I am privileged to have met Adam, and I really hope our paths cross again someday. – Derek D
ADAM HAS BECOME A HUGE INFLUENCE IN SUCH A SHORT TIME!
We have been so fortunate to have come across Adam Kolloff as a Golf Instructor at Golf Rite Performance Center. Our son, Derek, wanted to take his golf game one step further. It was important for us to find a great teacher, but just as important to find someone that Derek felt comfortable with. We met with Adam for a half hour session and he hit it off right away with Derek. In that short meeting, Adam had picked up things about Derek’s game that needed improvement. Adam took time to explain the detailed problems and assured Derek that he could help him with his game. Adam has a demeanor that almost calms you as he speaks. Derek has said that Adam makes him “feel calm and confident” at his lessons. He really took time to focus on things that helped Derek’s golf game. Derek had a huge transition this summer, Adam saw the need for Derek to change his grip. With Adam’s informative instruction and Derek’s hard work the transition was almost flawless. Adam has taken the time to email instruction videos and tips on pinpointing the games strengths and weaknesses, as well as very informative ebooks he has written. Derek’s golf game has really improved in so many ways. We really feel that Adam has brought Derek’s golf game in a direction that will surely benefit his future. Adam has become a huge influence to Derek in such a short time. Being parents of a child, who has always loved the game of golf, it means the world to us! – Dan and Sue D.
I HAVE LOWERED MY COURSE HANDICAP BY 4 STROKES SO FAR!
I want to thank you for helping me re-build my golf swing just a few months after the surgeon re-built my hip. The use of the video tools were eye-opening. I saw how far my set-up, posture, take away, weight distribution and swing had deteriorated. I particularly enjoyed looking at my swing in slow motion and stop action in the key positions as compared to Fred Couples and Tiger Woods. Seeing our swings executed in side-by-side windows helped me to quickly understand what I was doing and where I needed to be. I appreciated your willingness to keep the instruction simple and not overwhelm me with dozens of things to think about. With prior instructors I would leave a lesson with my head spinning unable to remember most of what they suggested. I found that identifying and working on a limited number of swing keys each week and then having you reinforce them with an email (including images captured from the video) was perfect for me. I have lowered my course handicap by 4 strokes so far this year and expect to get it down a couple more by the fall getting me ever so close to the single digit club. – Paul N.
YOU TRULY BEGIN TO LOVE THE GAME OF GOLF!
Scratch Golf School improved my game dramatically. I had a consistency problem when I first met with Adam, but within just a few hours I was hitting the ball perfect every time. The personal, courteous and professional instruction allowed me to trust that what I was learning was correct, and feel comfortable in front of the ball. With the instruction from SGS I have been able to make the varsity golf team at my high school and compete in local events. Anyone can be a good golfer, and SGS allows you to realize that. It’s then that you truly begin to love the game of golf. Even if I didn’t compete in golf I would choose SGS because it simply makes the great game of golf more fun. – Dylan C.
ADAM IS AN EXCELLENT TEACHER!
He improved my short game by having me focus on my body control and mental state. I would recommend him to any player. His patience for high handicapped players and his impressive coaching knowledge can help even the best out there. My handicap before Adam was 18, now I’m playing to a 13. Amazing how much the short game matters. – Griffin M.
ADAM’S METHODS ARE EASILY REMEMBERED AND COMPREHENSIVE!
Your method of taking one thru the steps of developing a consistent swing from the grip, to correct posture, to proper alignment covered ideas that are easily remembered and I thought pretty comprehensive. I also thought your attitude during your lessons was very conducive to learning (relaxed but sincere). You also didn’t try to impose your will on me as a student. This is a good tactic i.e. It is tough teaching an old dog new tricks. Therefore, not all suggestions are necessarily accepted but that did not effect your moving ahead. Finally, I think you enjoy what you are doing. I think that is important to success. – Frank C.
THE LESSONS HAVE BEEN A TREMENDOUS HELP AND THAT I NOW FEEL MUCH BETTER ABOUT ACHIEVING MY GOALS!
I had never had a golf lesson before going to Golf Rite, but finally decided to take lessons because I was dissatisfied with the way I was striking the golf ball and really wanted to improve my game. I knew that I needed to make major changes to enable consistency in ball flight that would ultimately lead to game improvement. Over the years I had constantly adjusted my stance, ball position, and grip to correct ball flight direction. While these worked for the short term and I played ok, they did not enable me to make any game improvements that I could understand and use consistently. At the first lesson, I immediately realized that your perspective and approach to setting up and working from a neutral position was the first key for me. Your thorough explanations about the reasons and rationale behind each component of the lesson, and similarly in the ensuing lessons for driving, irons, short game, and putting, really hit home. I felt that you were extremely knowledgeable about the mechanics, logistics, and psychology of each component and presented them in a very professional yet collegial manner. You also were very focused on making sure the lessons were understood and then followed up by providing emails with explanations directed at the things I need to work on. These helped to drive home the key elements for me. In addition, allowing the lessons to extend over a number of months enabled me to spend time to develop and ingrain the information from each lesson before moving on to developing the next skill set. I was very committed to making the changes, which I think were absolutely necessary for me. The first few months were extremely tough and when the season began I was erratic. However, I tried not to focus so much on score (this was not easy), but on developing the skills. By working at these over the last six months I can truly say that the lessons have been a tremendous help and that I now feel much better about achieving my goals because I better understand my swing and positioning as well as the skills that I need to really improve my game. Thanks Adam! – Robert G.
I LOOK FORWARD TO EVERY LESSON AS HE ALWAYS IMPROVES SOME PORTION OF MY GAME!
I have had a mid single digit handy cap for 20 years and have gone to multiple PGA teaching professionals to figure out how to shave the last few shots from my game. My issues have always been the same, I have wild swings in scores, one day shooting 75 and the next 88, the problems are mostly missing both left and right with all clubs, days my short game is on, I shot low, when I struggle with the short game, the inconsistency of my long game drives the score way up. Adam is the first PGA teaching pro who has been able to understand why I can stand on a practice and stripe shot after shot right where I am aimed, then go to the first tee and miss 30 yards right followed by pull hooks 40 yards left. I have so much lateral shift, my head gets forward of the ball position, causing blocks and snap hooks when my hands take over to try and save the shots. With Adam as my teacher, I am now able to diagnose the poor shots immediately on the course and make the proper swing corrections, or at least understand why. He has also given me at least one club extra distance and 10 yards in the air with my driver, allowing me to play courses 500 yards longer then I would have before meeting him without hesitation. Adam’s dedication to me as a student has been awesome, and I look forward to every lesson as he always improves some portion of my game. – Tom J.
NOW I LOVE THE GAME!
Adam, I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you very much for the time and effort you put into my lessons. I enjoyed the game of golf before I started to take lessons…now I love the game. Your help with all aspects of my game made it possible for me to strike the ball better, have a better set up and finally score better. One thing in particular sticks in my mind. I made an appointment with you for a lesson; you had seen me about a couple of weeks before that. When we got to the practice range you said to me “I have been thinking about the “John Cain swing”. Taking the time and making a plan for “my swing” is the sign of a great teacher. I will miss your help, but wish you the best in your new endeavor. If I get to Florida I will be sure to make some time for a “tune up.” – John C.
I CONTINUE TO USE ADAM’S SWING DRILLS ON THE RANGE.
Adam’s ability to break down the swing in layman’s terms allowed me for the first time to fully understand the swing mechanics required to produce consistent, solid contact. He then worked with me on each stage of the swing designing techniques for me to use to develop a more repeatable swing that after several months now feels natural to the point where I can tell when I am getting out of sequence or out of plane etc. I continue to use Adam’s swing drills on the range along with a few swing thoughts on the course and I have made significant progress this summer bringing my handicap down to a 12 and hope to continue to go lower from there next spring! – David R.
I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REGAIN MUCH OF THE POWER AND ACCURACY LOST AFTER AN INJURY.
Thanks to Adam Koloff’s guidance, I have been able to regain much of the power and accuracy lost as a result of sustaining a skiing injury a few years ago. I had been a 12-15 handicap golfer prior to the injury to my knee and hip. The injury caused me to alter my normal swing plane and setup to compensate. However when I recovered, these poor swing habits remained so I wasn’t able to sustain the golf performance I had been used to having. Adam’s teaching and hi-tech approach enabled me to correct the swing faults and regain the confidence in my game. It took a lot of practice but by season end, I had won our league fall outing tournament low-net award. Thanks again Adam! – Bob K.
